In 1946, shortly after the death of President Franklin Roosevelt, John R. Sinnock, one of the Chief Engravers at the US Mint, designed a lasting tribute to the late President. The Roosevelt Dime was born in that year and it still continues to this day. These dimes are collected by date and mintmark and now also by strike. A recent development has been an attempt by collectors to find a complete set of fully struck specimens. Now it is commonly accepted to look for "Full Torch" Roosevelt Dimes.
